Prologue

The sun was set, birds were going back to their nest. The sound of dry leaves crushing down the feet was heard clearly in the dense forest having no human till the far end except for the two. Trees were brushing each other because of the strong wind sending waves of coldness after the sunny day. But that breeze was not sufficient enough to calm the fire within their heart.

"Please stop joking! I don't like such jokes." Her voice held a request.

"Joking? It's you who is joking. It's you who have cooked this utterly rubbish thing in your stupid mind." He pushed her head with his finger. Irritation was clear by his action.

"What happened to you? Why are you behaving like that? We were so happy a few minutes back. What happened to you all of a sudden?" She screamed, not able to bear his sudden change in behaviour and continued in a low pleading voice. "Please... I am feeling scared." and cried placing her head on his warm muscular chest.

His warmth was soon loss when he abruptly pushed her causing distance between them. "Damn you, woman! You have lost your shame it doesn't mean I have lost it as well!"

"What shame are you talking about? Why will I have shame in getting close to my husband!" She lost her cool.

"Who husband? Which husband are you talking about?" His brown eyes started to get darker.

"Why are you talking like that? It's you who is my husband! We got married just a few days back!" Angry tears blurred her vision.

Letting a humorless chuckle out, he marched towards her, "We got married? Really? Don't tell me you believed in that stupid fake wedding."

"Are you out of your mind! Stupid fake wedding?! How can you call it a fake wedding when all the rituals were performed and we got married in the witness of God-Goddess, nature and all the people present there?" Those tears finally left her eyes.

"You silly girl, you know it very well why in the first place we are here and in which situation we went through that stupid wedding! That wedding holds no place for me. Do you get that?" His nose was flaring with anger.

"Stop! Please stop it! Are you even listening to yourself? You are calling our marriage stupid and on top of that, you are saying it holds no place for you. How could you!" She started throwing punches on his chest with her tiny fist making him angrier. He increased the hold on the handle of his sword, trying to control himself.

"Fine! Our wedding holds no place for you, right? Then what was that which happened on our wedding night? Why did you claim your husbandly rights on me? Why did you consummate our marriage?" She roared with anger and pain.

The wind suddenly started to increase its pace. The dark sky darkened more. The already cold weather became chilling cold. Leaves and soil started to fly with the breeze. The atmosphere became very scary but she was so immersed in her pain to notice it.

"Tell me why? Huh, why? Don't you have an answer to it? Wait... let me guess. I am not the only girl you had sex with, am I? You just used my body for your fun an—" She was abruptly stopped as her legs didn't touch the ground. Her back touched the tree, legs floating in the air as her neck was grabbed by his one hand. He lost it. He was unable to control himself, his anger... his true self.

She started wriggling in the air. She felt suffocated, unable to breathe. Her hands trying to loosen his grip on her but it was of no use. Her gaze fell on his now dark purple eyes. She knew she have crossed her limits. She has woken his hidden self. She wanted to calm him but how could she when she was the reason for his outburst. More tears flow from her eyes due to the hold on her neck and pain in her heart.

"Never... I repeat never utter such words from your mouth." His flaring nose and popped out veins on his neck was evidence of his anger.

She stopped wriggling, surrendering herself in his hands. Her painful eyes boring in his, sending a silent message through it.

She was dropped on the ground as he left his hold on her. She started coughing and started to inhale the air hungrily while rubbing her now bruised neck.

He sat down on his one knee matching her height and grabbed her jaw making her look at him. "Next time this hand won't stop." Getting up he turned his back at her and said, "And yes, neither you nor this wedding holds nothing in my heart." and fired the dry steam and leaves preparing for the dark night.
